President opens Culinary Art and Food Expo 2017

July 28, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena Friday opened the ‘Culinary Art Food Expo 2017’, the country’s fastest-growing professional trade exhibition for the hospitality, food and beverage sector at the BMICH in Colombo.

The exhibition which showcases the skills of chefs and is one of the biggest culinary exhibitions in Asia will be held from July 28-30.

 

Through the exhibition, the skilled chefs get an opportunity to present their innovative food creations to the public. The best recipes will be selected for prizes and awards in different categories.

More than 1800 chefs have joined in these competitions while the winners will be chosen by a panel of local and foreign judges.

A program has been organized to create business opportunities and exchange knowledge in the field, during this exhibition.

Minister John Amaratunga and the President of the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka Mr. Gerald Mendis were among those participated in the launching ceremony.

 

The 17th edition of the Culinary Art and Food Expo is organized by the Chefs’ Guild of Lanka and supported by professional exhibition organizers, CDC Events and Travels Pvt. Ltd.
